Grider was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative eye condition, at the age of 12. By the time he was 30, he had lost most of his sight. However, Grider refused to let his disability define him. He went on to earn a college degree, become a successful journalist, and write several books, including Blind Journey.

In Blind Journey, Grider shares his experiences of losing his sight, adjusting to life as a blind person, and finding new ways to connect with the world around him. He writes about the challenges he faced, the triumphs he celebrated, and the lessons he learned along the way.

Blind Journey is a powerful and inspiring memoir that offers a unique perspective on the human experience. Grider's story is a reminder that even in the face of adversity, it is possible to overcome challenges and achieve our dreams.
